Welcome!
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Vanderbilt University and a graduate affiliate of the LAPOP Lab. I specialize in comparative political behavior and public opinion. What motivates my research is an interest to understand and explain how individuals come to form opinions about the political rights and presence in public office of marginalized or underrepresented social groups. My dissertation examines the candidate entry process for LGBTQ+ candidates and accounts for individual-level (i.e., candidates themselves and voters) and meso-level factors (partisan elites). I employ a mixed-methods approach including analyses of survey, experimental and qualitative data.
